Grow Local to expand growing veggies to Denver's Parks!

Growl Local had a successful veggie garden in Civic Center Park this last growing season, and it was such a success that we are in conversation with Parks and Rec to expand the veggie plots to other parks in Denver.  We are looking for partners in this project.  Neighborhood organizations, ad hoc volunteer groups, faith-based groups, gardening groups, nonprofits, schools are invited to "adopt" a plot in potential locations in City Park, Sloan's Lake Park, Cheeseman Park, Washington Park and others. The food produced would go to a food bank or nonprofit in need of food.  Volunteers are asked for a May - October commitment of planting, maintaining and harvesting the plot.  Grow Local will oversee the project and will help train the groups and find plant starts for the plots.  Please email Dana Miller at pompomdana@comcast.net if you are interested.
